We Are Not a Private Equity Fund

We don't have an investment committee, so we can act fast and decisively. It also affords us multiple advantages:

Ayama

  • Primary responsibility: Develop and grow one UK business

  • Fully committed, 100% of our effort on managing the acquired business

  • Accelerated due diligence

  • Complete flexibility on deal terms (e.g. payment terms, transition period, desired owner role post-sale)

  • Long-term ownership mindset

  • Brand preservation

Private Equity

  • Primary responsibility: Maximise risk-adjusted returns from a portfolio of multinational businesses

  • Part of a portfolio of many businesses

  • 3-9 month due diligence

  • Rigid and complicated deal terms

  • Exit focused - buy, strip, flip

  • Brand destruction
